Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMDs)

Learn more about how to purchase bags, Even More® Speed and seat assignments in your GDS. We have enabled EMDs to purchase bags, Even More® Speed and seat assignments in the Sabre, Galileo and Amadeus GDSs. We have enabled seat assignments and Even More® Speed in Apollo and Worldspan GDSs.

Prepaid Bags

Travel agents can purchase 1st and 2nd checked bags via the GDS using an EMD.  For current rates and restrictions, please refer to the baggage info page or the GDS. 

Even More® Speed

Travel agents can purchase Even More® Speed, our product that sends customers to the fast lane at the security checkpoint (not available in every city), and allows early boarding and access to overhead bins.

Agency EMD Expectations:

• EMDs are refundable in cases of involuntary or voluntary itinerary changes only.  If the itinerary does not change then all paid EMDs are non-refundable and the travel agent will be issued a debit memo for improperly refunded EMDs.
• EMDs are not interlineable, endorsable or exchangeable.
• It is the travel agent’s responsibility to reassociate an EMD if it becomes disassociated.
• If the travel agent refunds or voids an EMD, it is that travel agent’s responsibility to remove the associated ancillary (AE).
• If the travel agent cancels the underlying segment, the AE will automatically be removed.
