EMDs will no longer be required to confirm free ($0) seat assignments in any GDS.&nbsp; As part of this change, the ability to assign Even More\u00ae Space (EMS) legroom seats through the GDS will be temporarily disabled.&nbsp; The ability to purchase Economy cabin (non-EMS legroom) seats for Blue Basic customers will remain. A solution to re-enable Travel Agent access to Economy EMS seats and Mint Studio will come later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>We no longer require EMDs for free seats (seats that previously priced at $0 with a \u201cP\u201d Paid indicator)<\/li><li>Blue, Blue Extra and Blue Plus customers will have access to free Economy cabin core seats (non-EMS legroom) and an EMD is not required as there will no longer be a $0 fee associated with that seat<\/li><li>Blue Basic customers will have access to paid Economy cabin core seats (non-EMS legroom) for a fee (an EMD is still required)<\/li><li>Economy cabin core seats (non-EMS legroom) will no longer display with a Paid \u201cP\u201d seat map characteristic<\/li><li>EMS legroom seating is temporarily unavailable (effective immediately) via the GDS.&nbsp; All EMS legroom seats will show as occupied and a seat request will be returned as unconfirmed (\u201cUC\u201d).&nbsp; Customers can add EMS legroom seating via jetblue.com<\/li><li>If your customer already purchased an EMS legroom seat via the GDS, seat cancelations must be made via the GDS.&nbsp; If your customer already purchased an EMS legroom seat via jetblue.com\/manage-trips, seat changes can be made via jetblue.com\/manage-trips<\/li><li>Mint customers will have access to free Mint seats.&nbsp; Mint Studio seats will temporarily show as occupied in the GDS and a seat request will be returned as unconfirmed (\u201cUC\u201d)<\/li><li>\u201cPreferred\u201d seats (with Q seat characteristic) can be selected without any fee or charge<\/li><li>A solution to re-enable Travel Agent access to Economy EMS legroom and Mint Studio seats will come later this year<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Agency EMD Expectations:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>EMDs are refundable in cases of involuntary or voluntary itinerary changes only.&nbsp; If the itinerary does not change then all paid EMDs are non-refundable and the travel agent will be issued a debit memo for improperly refunded EMDs.<\/li><li>EMDs are not interlineable, endorsable or exchangeable.<\/li><li>It is the travel agent\u2019s responsibility to reassociate an EMD if it becomes disassociated.<\/li><li>If the travel agent refunds or voids an EMD, it is that travel agent\u2019s responsibility to remove the associated ancillary (AE).<\/li><li>If the travel agent cancels the underlying segment, the AE will automatically be removed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Even More\u00ae Space seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even More\u00ae Space seats cannot currently be assigned via the GDS.&nbsp; Customers can use jetblue.com to purchase an EMS seat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Blue Basic seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Blue Basic seats can be assigned via the GDS.&nbsp;If a seat assignment is purchased directly with JetBlue, you will not see the EMD in the agency PNR. Blue Basic customers may also upgrade to an Even More\u00ae Space seat at any time by following the instructions above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Extra Seat Request<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An extra seat can be purchased for those who want an open seat next to them for&nbsp;more&nbsp;space between travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Follow the normal booking instructions but make the reservation for one extra person<\/li><li>Book the first seat with the traveler&#8217;s name, i.e. SMITH\/ROBERT<\/li><li>Book the second seat with your traveler&#8217;s last name and &#8216;EXST&#8217; as the first name, i.e. SMITH\/EXST<\/li><li>Include the following SSR message in the record: SSR EXST B6 NN1 JFKMCO0031Y31JUL-1SMITH\/ROBERT.OVERSIZED<\/li><li>Select adjoining seat assignments in the GDS or in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetblue.com\/manage-trips\">manage your booking<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When you purchase an extra seat, both seats must be booked in the same fare option. The fare option selected will determine your baggage allowance. The carry-on baggage allowance remains the same per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Codeshare<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Seats assignments are not available for codeshare flights via the GDS.&nbsp; Customers can use jetblue.com or obtain a seat at check-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Length of seatbelts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our seatbelts are 45 inches in length and customers can request 25 inch extensions onboard the aircraft.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seat Assignments Notice As of 15 May 2022, some changes have been made to JetBlue\u2019s paid seat map.
